Do you have a project you will never finish? Read this...inspiration and tax advantages!

I have a very enthusiastic principal and five teachers at Begich Middle School who are seriously considering taking on a Build a Plane project. I also have some potential volunteers with the expertise to assist them.

We thought we had a line on an older aircraft in need of reconstruction that was part of an estate but that did not pan out. So I am turning to you all who may know someone who knows someone who has a damaged or partially built kit airplane (that someone can't or won't finish) that could be DONATED to a Build A Plane Project. If the donation is done through Build A Plane, which is a 501(c)3 entity, the donor can get receive a tax benefit.

To my way of thinking, the best project would be a fabric aircraft that they could take apart and then recontruct. I view this as potentially along term project for middle school. Begich has a facility in which they can store the aircraft and a technology classroom that has most of what they need - including a technology teacher who is a pilot. But I am open to facilitating any kind of aircraft we can get for them. This is an all volunteer effort. There are no funding sources available that I know of at this time - and I would be ethically precluded from asking for it anyway.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, I would readily welcome your input.
